A Temporary Matter (from Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter Of Maladies)

Vârsta aia la care faci încă mişto de propria ta moarte. Oamenii ăia faini de care încă eşti ataşată. Amoţeala aia plăcută din care nu vrei să ieşi nici pentru jobul care-ţi va plăti visele. Si cea pe care n-o vei cunoaşte pentru mult timp de acum încolo. Semn. :)

Chintesenţa sociologiei

Preambul: Noi, acum câteva luni bune, în Ciş , frunzărind şi făcând mişto de o carte de socio de care o prietenă dorise să scape cu tot dinadinsul. Cap. I Iată ce zice un nene (N. Grosu) la partea cu discriminarea de sex: ,,Femeile proiectându-se sub aparenţa ţinutei, în timp ce bărbaţii spre esenţa personalităţii, este sigur că, pe măsură ce se maturizează, femeile, scăzând în aparenţă, pierd din atractivitate, fiind percepute biologic ca babe [...]" ,,Dacă însa femeia nu aparţine şi nu este ocrotită de vreun bărbat şi cum, prin sexism, nu aparţine şi nu este ocrotită nici de societate, ea riscă să aparţină tuturor, fără ca vreunul să o şi ocrotească, devenind astfel prostituată. Rezultă că femeia trebuie să oscileze între condiţia de obiect privat şi condiţia de obiect public, teama de cele două extreme constrangand-o spre o existenţă tensionată, anxioasă şi duplicitară."
